2016 Honda Pilot Review by Hendrick Honda Pompano Beach

The 2016 Honda Pilot is bigger and better than ever before! With the ability to comfortably seat 8, the Honda Pilot gives large families a stylish and functional alternative to the classic mini-van. There are 17 different trim styles, giving you plenty of options to choose from. Our most popular models are the 2016 Honda Pilot EX and the EX-L and are featured in our 2016 Honda Pilot review.

Safety was no compromise with the 2016 Honda Pilot. It received a 2016 TOP SAFETY PICK award by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Both styles also come equipped with a multi-angle back-up camera for improved driver visibility and safety. [1] Also available is the Honda exclusive LaneWatchTM [2] feature is an option which reveals nearly 4x more than the passenger-side mirror alone!

Plenty of room for people, cargo or both.

The 2016 Honda Pilot MPG varies slightly across trim styles but with an overall rating of 27 MPG HWY and 19 MPG City. [3] As an all-wheel drive vehicle, it also offers an impressive 5,000 pounds of towing capacity or 3,500 pounds with front-wheel drive.

The interior is where the differences between the EX and the EX-L are found. If it is leather interior with heated front seats you want, then the EX-L is the trim for you. The EX gives passengers comfortable cloth seats. In the EX-L, adjusting the passenger seat is simple with a 4-way power seat adjustment. A passenger in the Pilot EX has the same control over their seat adjustment, just with a manual 4-way seat adjustment.
Within both trim styles, the audio equipment and radio options remain the same. Offering the standard AM/FM radio but also including luxuries such as Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, SMS text message function, Pandora compatibility and Song By Voice. All of this is controlled on an 8” high-resolution touch-screen.

The Pilot is packed with amazing technology, including push button start, and 8-inch Display Audio touch-screen (EX and above) and tri-zone automatic climate control (EX and above).

If you enjoy riding with the windows down, the Pilot EX-L may be more your style. All EX-Ls come equipped with open/close sliding and tilting glass first row sunroofs with a sunshade.

In both the 2016 Honda Pilot EX and EX-L, driver and passenger can ride in comfort thanks to the dual-zone front automatic air conditioning. Honda also did not forget about the second- and third-row passengers, both trim styles come equipped with rear HVAC with their own controls. Throughout each model of the Pilot there are 15 cup holders. That should be plenty for all your passengers, even with a full vehicle!

With keyless entry, both styles make loading up a family of 8 quick and hassle free. The EX-L makes packing up the rear cargo area a bit easier with power liftgate access. The roomy rear cargo area is large enough to haul an impressive load, including an 86-quart cooler to fit extra drinks and snacks for your weekend activities with family or friends.
